Day 17:  Carrion de Los Condes to Terradillos de Los Templarios

First of all, thanks to all who’ve sent me encouraging words. The last couple days have been hard and I know it’s just that the terrain is monotonous, my feet are tired, and some of the newness has rubbed off. But it helps to know that you are thinking of me.

We left at 6:30 this morning in the dark and completed almost 17 miles. And……I have my first blister!  Ugh. I did buy some gel foot inserts and that helped the pain in my right heel.  Ware all feeling a bit worn and beaten down and are considering walking 12 km tomorrow and catching a train into Leon for a rest day. I think it would serve us well at this point.

Didn’t take many photos today as it all looks about the same, but here’s a few:

It’s always a relief to get to our albergue for the night. And this one is super nice. Great outdoor space, bar, restaurant, clean, AND we have a double room and our own bathroom !  Simple pleasures.

This map shows that we are smack dab in the middle of the Camino (the shell is our location)

  1. Carrie and Beth I think a rest day will serve you well! While training on long days I would use yoga breathing techniques to ground myself. If felt very Zen and made me feel more connected to the experience. I hope that helps, believe me I think of each of you every day! Well done my friends!
